39 Years of Helping People

The

The Dearborn Pastoral Counseling Center (DPCC) was founded in 1984 as a 501 (C)(3) non-profit agency; with a mission to provide faith-based mental health counseling that was financially accessible for individuals in the community. DPCC began seeing clients in space provided by Cherry Hill Presbyterian Church, 24110 Cherry Hill Road, Dearborn, Michigan, and continues to operate at this location today.

A group of ministers from Dearborn-area churches led the creation of DPCC because they saw the need in their congregrations and the community.  DPCC has been supported throughout its history by area churches, including founding congregations Cherry Hill Presbyterian Church, First Presbyterian Church of Dearborn, and Christ Episcopal Church.

Since those early days, DPCC has changed to keep up with developments in the field of mental health counseling, as well as needs in the community. Today, we offer our clients a choice of faith-based or secular counseling services. We also work with most insurance companies to bill for services provided.  Our Client Aid Fund, supported by donations, helps clients pay for the cost of counseling services. Approximately 70 percent of our operating budget is earned from insurance billing, 24 percent is from client payments, and 4 percent is from donations.
